The Perfect Single Leg Deadlift
Single Leg Deadlifts are an AMAZING exercise as you get so much out of it! We are working on glutes, hamstrings, foot and ankle stability, core stability - the list goes on!
As with every exercise we want to make sure that we get the most out of it and reduce the risk of injury, by making sure our technique is on point.
Now, here are some of the basic we want to make sure you have in place.
On top of these things we also want to make sure that:
1| Your arch is active (no flat feet)
2| You are making contact with the triangle of the foot (the base of the big and little toes as well as the heel)
3| You are only moving through the range of motion that you can maintain control (not everyone can hit parallel immediately)
4| Your trunk isn't rotating (fight the weight pulling you down)
5| You breathe into your belly to help encourage trunk stabilization
