Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctor's referral?
You do not need a doctor's referral to be seen by a physical therapist, however some insurance companies require one in order for you to receive coverage.
Do you see WCB and MVA patients?
Currently no WCB or MVA cases are being accepted at this clinic.
How do I book an appointment?
How long is a typical session?
Assessments run about 40 minutes, and treatments are 20 minutes long. Sometimes you may be asked to do some exercises at the end of a session, which can extend these times.
Do I need to be in pain or injured to come?
Do you direct bill?
Direct billing to insurance companies using the Alberta Blue Cross and Telus portals have been added for your convenience! This includes Sunlife, Great West Life, Johnson Group, Manulife. For other insurance companies an emailed invoice makes it easy for you to submit your claim.
What happens if I miss an appointment?
I understand that sometimes "life happens", however there is a No Show fee of $50 that is incurred if an appointment is missed with no prior notice. Late Cancellations - when notice is given with less than 24 hours notice - will incur a $25 fee.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
Unfortunately this gets the annoying response of - "it depends". The assessment is key in helping us determine how many sessions you are likely to require. As a rough estimate, minor injuries typically see significant improvement within 4-6 sessions, moderate injuries between 10-12, and severe/chronic injuries around 20. As every individual is unique these timelines can vary, but often you will notice some improvement after the first session.
