I'm a local physical therapist with a passion for all things movement and athletics! I have been an athlete my whole life, and it has given me a special appreciation for what it takes to be an athlete. The discipline - the training - the injuries - the frustrating recovery process. I've been there. It sucks! If there's one thing I hate, it's missing out on doing the things I love to do. Some of my favorites include soccer (I've played ACAC as well as Premier and Major League in Edmonton), triathlons, hitting up the gym, and hiking. I also love to travel and do it whenever I can!
WHY I CREATED VELOCITY PT
It is my mission to develop a system that helps to reduce an athlete's risk of injury and return them to play safely and efficiently. Total injury prevention may not be possible, but if we stop putting fitness on top of dysfunction we can reduce their risk.
I want to provide easily accessible education so that athletes can learn how to take proper care of their bodies. Being active demands a lot from our body and it requires regular maintenance.
Lastly, as someone who has suffered multiple sport concussions, I want to ensure that parents and athletes are educated about what concussions are, the risks of returning too soon to sport, and what true recovery looks like. I want to implement an evidence-based system to ensure that athletes return when they have fully recovered.
