Building Solid Foundations
I believe in building athletes from the foundation up. It all starts with being able to move well. Only when we have learned to move well can we optimize our physical capacity and performance. Too often athletes get caught trying to put fitness on top of dysfunction - that cycle ends now.
Proactive NOT Reactive
Contrary to what many have come to believe, physical therapy is NOT just for after an injury has happened. In fact a big role of physical therapy is to help people reduce their risk of injury. This is where the screening process is so valuable. It helps reveal issues in the movement foundation that put an athlete at an increased risk for injury. Then, we can address those issues before injury strikes.
Education is key! Athletes need to understand and appreciate the complex structure that is their body. They need to have a basic understanding of how it works, what happens when you apply stress to it, how it recovers, and more. This is why I love workshops and why I created the Learn section (a "blog" designed solely to educate).
1 on 1 Treatment
I believe in giving patients my 100% undivided attention. I use extended appointments so that we aren't rushed in our work to create a body that moves better, recovers better, and performs better.
